Creature aptitudes
Six trainable skills belong to the individual creature and rise through supervised practice.
Creature aptitudes are learned skills recorded on an individual Fenborn. They begin untrained and can rise to rank 3. Training earns aptitude XP; 50 total XP reaches rank 1, 150 reaches rank 2, and 300 reaches rank 3.
Training an aptitude
Each aptitude has a regular training desk. A training session costs 1 AP and 0 Marks, earns 60 aptitude XP, and occupies the Bond commitment while it is underway. The posting shows the exact duration before you begin.
Fieldcraft practice is at Listening Grove in Lumaweald and normally takes 20 minutes. Wayfinding drill is at Lowtide Quay in Brinewake and takes 25 minutes. Stewardship handling and Cooperative handling are both at First Reed Sanctuary in Mirecross and take 20 minutes each.
Resilience conditioning is at Bellows Row in Kilnward and takes 30 minutes. Surveying practice is at Compass Court in Vitravale and takes 25 minutes. Trained Stewardship and certain equipped training aids can shorten later sessions, so the posted duration is the one to rely on when you begin.
Fieldcraft, Wayfinding and Surveying
Creature Fieldcraft improves supported field, search, salvage and haul work. At ranks 1, 2 and 3 it can raise the Marks reward for those roles by 2%, 4% and 6%.
Wayfinding shortens supported town Journeys when that creature assists: 2% at rank 1, 4% at rank 2 and 6% at rank 3. Surveying shortens supported survey work by the same 2%, 4% and 6% progression.
Stewardship, Handling and Resilience
Creature Stewardship shortens supported care-role work by 2%, 4% and 6% across ranks 1 through 3. It also shortens later aptitude training by the same progression.
Handling helps a wild-origin creature with the extra Trust demanded by its first unfamiliar assigned role. It offsets 2 Trust at rank 1, 4 at rank 2 and 6 at rank 3; it does not remove the role’s ordinary Trust requirement.
Resilience improves effective Defense and Constitution without changing the creature’s permanent base values: 1% at rank 1, 2% at rank 2 and 4% at rank 3. Those effective values can matter in sanctioned battle and demanding work that reads them.
Keeper disciplines with the same names
Keeper Fieldcraft and Keeper Stewardship are separate from the creature aptitudes that share those names. A Keeper posting that requires `Fieldcraft 3` is asking for Keeper Fieldcraft level 3; training a creature’s Fieldcraft does not raise the Keeper discipline.
