Fenborn & the keeper bond
Why creatures are companions with agency rather than collectible objects.
Fenborn creatures emerge where Currents overlap. A stable bond is a mutual attunement that shares intent without erasing the will of either creature or Keeper.
Not ownership
The interface may use familiar words such as pet, but the setting treats a creature as a participant in the bond. Forced attunement is unstable, harmful, and central to the history of the Quiet Chain.
Growth
Creatures develop elemental skills, combat attributes, non-combat aptitudes, and a relationship with the current Keeper. Native traits shape style without making a species mandatory for content.
A persistent life
Adoption, rescue, transfer, or illicit acquisition changes provenance and custody. The creature’s ID and chronological record do not reset.
