Keeper disciplines
Seven trained fields are recorded separately from your overall Keeper level.
Your Keeper record carries seven disciplines: Fieldcraft, Stewardship, Scholarship, Tradecraft, Diplomacy, Gamesmanship, and Underways. When a posting requires `Fieldcraft 3`, your Fieldcraft discipline must be level 3 before you can take it.
What each field covers
Each discipline rises from XP earned on postings assigned to that field.
Fieldcraft
Travel, foraging, rescue, and exploration.Field routes, surveys, salvage, and other work that depends on moving and working safely outside settled ground.
Stewardship
Care, rehabilitation, and sanctuary work.Creature welfare, recovery routines, sanctuary practice, and work centered on keeping Fenborn healthy and manageable.
Scholarship
Education, research, and Codex discovery.Study, observation, technical instruction, research work, and the careful recording of what is learned.
Tradecraft
Crafting, markets, appraisal, and logistics.Making and valuing goods, freight and supply work, market practice, and the practical movement of things people need.
Diplomacy
Circles, negotiation, and civic work.Claims, records, negotiation, escort, Circle business, and work where standing between people and institutions matters.
Gamesmanship
Tournaments, legal games, and probability knowledge.Formal games, tournament practice, sporting administration, and the mathematics and judgment used around regulated play.
Underways
Stealth, investigation, smuggling, and crime.Hidden routes, discreet investigation, illicit movement, and work that takes place beyond ordinary civic channels.
Raising a discipline
Complete postings assigned to a discipline to earn XP in that discipline. Fieldcraft postings award Fieldcraft XP; Scholarship postings award Scholarship XP; the same rule applies to the other five.
The ordinary thresholds are 100 total discipline XP for level 1, 400 for level 2, 900 for level 3, 1,600 for level 4, and 2,500 for level 5. The same square progression continues above level 5.
Keeper level is separate
Activities may also award Keeper XP. Keeper XP raises your overall Keeper level; discipline XP raises only the discipline named by the posting.
A high overall Keeper level does not automatically raise Fieldcraft, Stewardship, or another discipline. If a posting names a discipline level, that named discipline is the one that must meet the requirement.
Similar names on creature records
Fieldcraft and Stewardship also appear as creature aptitude names. Creature aptitudes are trained on an individual Fenborn and use ranks rather than Keeper discipline levels.
