Sporewing
Warden's Rest · Lumaweald
Sporewing are large nocturnal gliding fenborn with velvet wing membranes that collect fungal spores as they brush against fruiting bodies.
What it is
Sporewing are large nocturnal gliding fenborn with velvet wing membranes that collect fungal spores as they brush against fruiting bodies. Specialized facial combs clean the membranes and redistribute spores along habitual routes.
What Keepers notice
Several deep-forest fungi reproduce far less successfully where Sporewing colonies disappear. Their delicate wing membranes make them poorly suited to cage transport, yet they remain common in illegal exotic markets.
How this species enters Keeper life
Trafficking confiscation rehabilitation, canopy-colony rescue, research placements, and later protected-grove attunement.
This is a species dossier. Individual fenborn keep their own care state, provenance, temperament, history, and Keeper relationship.
