Ashrunner are long-legged fenborn with wide splayed toes and closable nostrils adapted for loose ash.
What it is
Ashrunner are long-legged fenborn with wide splayed toes and closable nostrils adapted for loose ash. They travel in small bands, sprinting between cooler stone islands while feeding on insects and heat-tolerant scrub.
What Keepers notice
Their tracks break wind crusts and expose buried seed after ashfall. Off-road racing routes can look harmless on barren flats while repeatedly cutting through the exact corridors bands use between water and shade.
How this species enters Keeper life
Ashfall displacement, vehicle-strike rehabilitation, corridor restoration, and later open-range attunement.
This is a species dossier. Individual fenborn keep their own care state, provenance, temperament, history, and Keeper relationship.
