What the office will hold you to
- Lawful adoption and transfer are attached to the creature’s Registry provenance rather than replacing it.
- A transfer changes recorded custody; it does not erase prior origin, rescue, surrender, or custody history.
- Illicit or disputed custody can remain possible in practice while creating disputed records, suspicion, or later claims.
- Keeper licensing and public standing are related but distinct: holding a seal does not guarantee every institution considers the Keeper trustworthy.
Bring the record, not only the creature
Registry clerks can process a clean transfer faster when the current provenance file, custody record, and required consent are already attached. Missing or conflicting documents do not become true merely because both parties are impatient.
Dispute does not mean disappearance
When a claim cannot be resolved immediately, the file may remain disputed while the Registry preserves the competing record. Seal’s office is specifically instructed not to manufacture a clean history by deleting an inconvenient one.
