What it is
Vattenfira are semi-aquatic fenborn with luminous tail organs used for signaling and navigation in turbid water. Adults may reach eight feet from nose to tail.
What Keepers notice
They disturb choking surface mats and react quickly to sudden chemical or temperature changes. Withdrawal from a channel is a warning signal, not proof of contamination by itself.
