Kelpmane
Wreckward · Brinewake Coast
Kelpmane are muscular coastal fenborn with long ribbon-like neck filaments that resemble kelp blades when held motionless.
What it is
Kelpmane are muscular coastal fenborn with long ribbon-like neck filaments that resemble kelp blades when held motionless. They graze epiphytes from living kelp and use powerful forelimbs to anchor in surge.
What Keepers notice
Healthy Kelpmane feeding opens light gaps without severing mature kelp, increasing nursery habitat below the canopy. Boat propellers are a major source of filament and shoulder injuries near urban coves.
How this species enters Keeper life
Propeller-injury rehabilitation, kelp-restoration transfer, Wreckward rescue, and later reef stewardship.
This is a species dossier. Individual fenborn keep their own care state, provenance, temperament, history, and Keeper relationship.
