Species description
Glimmerfin are small amphibious shoaling fenborn with reflective lateral scales and flexible fin-limbs that let them cross short stretches of saturated mud between pools. Their synchronized flashes coordinate schools in stained water.
Field note
Large schools consume mosquito larvae and suspended insect eggs at extraordinary rates. Collectors prize unusual scale patterns, and entire breeding schools have disappeared from easily reached pools after illegal netting.
