Frostmole
Whitewater Hospice · The Pale Hours
Frostmole are powerful burrowing fenborn with broad foreclaws and blood-vessel countercurrent systems that keep the digging limbs warm.
What it is
Frostmole are powerful burrowing fenborn with broad foreclaws and blood-vessel countercurrent systems that keep the digging limbs warm. They tunnel beneath snow rather than through frozen mineral soil whenever possible.
What Keepers notice
Frostmole tunnels aerate saturated ground during thaw and can redirect meltwater away from plant crowns. Construction crews sometimes mistake fresh mounds for pipe failures and destroy colonies during unnecessary excavation.
How this species enters Keeper life
Excavation rescue, thaw-collapse rehabilitation, hospice transfer, and later sub-snow habitat attunement.
This is a species dossier. Individual fenborn keep their own care state, provenance, temperament, history, and Keeper relationship.
