What it is
Driftwing are compact feathered fenborn with broad low-speed wings and heavily fringed feet. They ride slope winds close to the snow surface, dropping suddenly to seize rodents exposed by shifting drifts.
What Keepers notice
Their hunting passes reveal weak crusts and hollow snowpack because birds repeatedly avoid sections that collapse under landing pressure. Utility towers provide useful perches but have also become a major collision hazard.
