The wound that looks back
The shifting crater beyond Crownwatch, where temporary camps surround the basin’s oldest unresolved anomaly.
UsghuiYzSurvey abstract
No permanent town survives inside Starfall Crown. The ground changes too often, routes fail too abruptly, and enough expeditions have returned by a different path that Crownwatch stopped pretending a permanent street plan was possible.
Crownwatch
The last permanent station supplies expeditions and records who entered, what they carried, and whether they returned by the same route. Missing signatures are copied into a separate ledger before anyone begins using the word lost.
Temporary camps
Circles maintain temporary camps where the terrain permits them. A good camp is expected to be dismantled before the Crown dismantles it first; abandoned anchors are common enough that crews paint dates on anything they leave behind.
The Sunken Engine
The name describes a structure, not an accepted explanation. Whether it caused the Still Tide, survived it, or merely resembles a machine to people who badly want one answer remains restricted and disputed.
